Capital of the Inca-Empire, Cusco was a sacred city that contains numerous archeological centers as well as some of the finest pieces of colonial art or architecture. It goes without saying that it is a places that breathes of history and religion and that remains one of the most interesting and beautiful cities of the South-American continent.
This tour is an excellent way to visit some of the most impressive Inca and colonial sites of the Andes with a professional guide.
PROGRAM:
Our tour will begin at 13h 45 when we pick you up at your hotel or await you at the office.
The first place we'll visit is the Cathedral in which we can observe its construction in baroque-style as well as its many paintings from the Cusqueñan-school.
After this we'll visit the Qoricancha, better known as the Gold-Covered Temple . Inside we'll see the smaller temples of Trueno, Rayo, Relámpago, Arco Iris and the Stars and the Temple of the Holy Sunday.
Once we've let the temples behind us we'll visit the archeological park Saqsayhuaman, situated at only ten minutes from the Plaza de Armas, where we'll see those famous Inca walls build with gigantic stones. The shape of this site is the head of the Puma whose body was represented by the old frontiers of Cusco as well as Q'enqo (known as a labyrinth), Pucapucara or Tambomachay.
We'll be back in Cusco at approximately 18h30. All during our trek we'll have a qualified guide with us.
