This trek will combine perfectly the cultural and a natural attraction where we'll be able to enjoy fully of the magnificent sights over Salkantay snow-peak It's the domain of the Apu The Mountain Gods that watch over Machu Picchu . This road will lead us straight back to Inca-times, accompanied by Apu Salkantay and Apu Humantay.
Not only will we be amazed by the enormous variety of plants and flowers on this trek, it is also the natural habitat of three important spiritual and symbolical animals in the Andean culture The snake represents the world below, the puma that represents the earthly world and of course the condor, the largest bird of prey in the world, representing the heavenly world.
We will also be able to appreciate meeting with local people that continue to live and work their lands the ancestral way. They hold on to their ancient traditions and wear typical clothes that seem to be out of time.
Passing by Huayllabamba we'll continue on the famous Inca Trail that will lead us through a giant garden filled with an incredible amount of different orchids.
The river that slingers through the landscape and that is known by the Incas as Wilkamayu will lead us through a gigantic garden with an incredible amount of orchids until the majestic Inca ruins of Machu Picchu (2400m) A historical and religious capital, an agricultural and astronomic center floating in the sky, hidden by clouds Mystical and wonderful.
1 st Day - Cusco - Mollepata (Cruz Pata) - Soraypampa - Salkantaypampa
Transfer from your hotel in Cusco (3280m) direction the little village of Mollepata (3000m), place where we'll start our hike on the Inca Trail.
We'll pass through the small village of Cruz Pata (3400m) where we'll have the most spectacular sights over the Mollepata Valley .
Our campsite for the night is at the feet of the most majestic and impressing mountains of this area such as Salkantay (6264m) and Humantay (5217m). The campsite is called Salkantaypampa and it's situated at 3900meters.
We'll be hiking about 6 hours in a rather cold climate.

2 nd Day - Salkantaypampa - Paso Salkantay - Sisay Pampa
The colder morning-temperatures will be excellent to ascend to the highest and toughest part of this trek, in the snow over the Salkantay-pass (5200m). This pass is a wonderful spot for sightseeing because it's surrounded by majestic snow-peaks such as Humantay (5459m), Tucarhuay (5910m) and Soray Hill (5428m).
After the pass we'll be hiking down until the Sisay pampa (3700m) where we'll have our campsite.
Our hiking-time will be about 8 hours in a cold climate.

3 rd Day - Sisay Pampa - Canal Inca - Huayllabamba
We will have to hike down by Incan canals and original paths in order to enter Huayllabamba (3000m). There we'll have our connection over the Inca trail to our campsite.

4 th Day - Huayllabamba - Warmiwañusca - Pacaymayu
In the morning we'll hike up to the pass of Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman's pass at 4200meters) at a gentle pace. After a short rest on the Warmiwañusca-pass we'll continue our trek downwards and camp at Pacaymayu (3500m).
Our hiking-time will be about 7 hours in a cold climate.

5 th Day - Pacaymayu - Chaqui cocha - Wiñayhuayna
This will be a special day because of the large number of archeological sites we'll come upon during today's trek such as Runkuraqay (3800m), Runkuraqay-pass (the beginning of the high-jungle at 3900meters), Sayacmarca (3600m), Phuyupatamarca (3580m) and finally the magnificent ruins of Wiñayhuayna (2650m) just next to our campsite.
We'll be hiking about 7 hours in a temperate to cold climate with some mosquitoes.

6 th Day - Wiñayhuayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco
We'll leave very early in the morning with our torch-lights to hike the last couple of hours that separate us from the historical, spiritual and agricultural Inca-capital of Machu Picchu (2400m). We'll pass through the Inti Punku (the Sun Gate at 2730 meters ) where, by clear weather, we'll have the breathtaking sight of a sunrise over Machu Picchu . A few moments later we'll enter this untouched Inca-sanctuary to have a guided tour with a professional guide. After this tour that will last for about two hours you'll have plenty of time to wonder around the ruins by yourself And for the bravest among us there is always the ascension to Huayna Picchu or the nearby Temple of the Moon. We'll all meet afterwards to go down to Aguas Calientes (2050m) where we'll take our train back to Cusco .
Our trekking-time will be about 3 hours in a warm climate with mosquitoes.
