FAQ Peru

Level of activity

Many of treks and tours are physically challenging and each one has a difficulty level mentioned. Many of treks include extended periods of walking, walking up hill, high altitudes, and walking everyday for many days. This requires people to have certain level of physical fitness. Also, it is recommended that you spend time in Cusco or other higher altitude locations before departing. We take many precautions on our trips including where mentioned having an emergency horse, extensive first aid kit, and emergency oxygen bottle. Information for Your Tour

Before starting your tour we will provide you with all the information necessary for an enjoyable experience. This will include what to bring, health, logistics, and any other information for your trip. Usually, an information packet is sent before arrival in Peru and then a pre-trip briefing is done before right before your departure. Also, there is a significant amount of information available on our website. Please, contact us if you have any questions.

Itinerary Description

We do everything possible to make sure the trip descriptions are as accurate as possible and regularly update them. Sometimes, events out of our control such as natural disasters or infrastructure problems occur changing the Itinerary. We will try to notify you when this happens. Always we strive to make our trips a wonderful experience.

Necessary Equipment

Many of our treks take place in challenging outdoor environments over a period of 3-12 days. It is important to have the necessary equipment for you to enjoy the experince. Please, take a look at the equipment list below. This is a general list for most of our trips and you will recieve one that is for your trip.

Backpack with rain cover, sleeping bag, clothing for warm and cold climate like a waterproof jacket, rain pants and lightweight pants, trekking shoes, slippers or sandals (for showers and hot springs), woolen or synthetic socks, a sweater, long- and short-sleeved polo’s/t-shirts, a rainponcho, a hat, bathing suit (for the hot springs in Aguas Calientes), sunscreen, insect repellent, disinfecting alcohol and gel, water bottle and sterilizing tablets, toiletries and toiletpaper, camera (wrapped in plastic bag), a flash light and batteries, some snacks like chocolate bars and dry fruit, original passport, original ISIC student card and extra money in soles.

This is very important as many of our trips require a high level of physical fitness and good general health. We try to set the correct expectations about what to expect and hope this will be helpful for you choosing a trip.
